Head of Division
Welcome to the Division of Design & Technology (D&T). It is one of the four Divisions that makes up the Institute of Technical Vocational Education Training (ITVET) here at the University of Goroka.
The Division plays a crucial role in shaping the future through our innovative programs that focus on Design & Technology and Teacher Education Training. We believe in the power of education and skills training to better equip graduates to be fit and competent for the rapidly changing trade related job markets in the industry at the same time contributing meaningfully towards national development initiatives.
In our teacher education training program, we aim to equip future educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field of education with emphasis on industrial arts and technology. This program not only focuses on classroom teaching techniques but also emphasizes the importance of holistic education and professional development.
In the realm of Design & Technology, we offer a range of courses that cater to students interested in the technical aspects of design associated with the various trades which includes, machining fitting, welding fabrication, building construction, and allied technologies. These programs open doors to careers in fields such as architectural drafting, industrial design-employing computer aided design programs and more, providing students with the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving trade-oriented job market.
By offering these diverse programs and courses, we aim to bridge the gap between education and industry, preparing our graduates to meet the growing demands of the workforce and contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation. Join us on this journey of discovery, innovation, and growth at the Design & Technology Division, where we empower minds and shape the future leaders of tomorrow.
