The Journal of Popular Science was established by the School of Science and Technology of the University of Goroka to meet the expressed and recognized requirements of the University for increased emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in line with Papua New Guinea national demands. It addresses the concerns of the University Council and academic management for increased research and publication in the STEM subject areas. It is designed to provide attainable outlets for popular and accessible publication of the results from post graduate student theses as well as academic staff research. Particular emphasis is placed on the need to encourage research and publication in the fields of biocultural diversity, traditional knowledge and practice, biotechnology, agriculture, health science and mathematics with innovative applications for fulfilling the university mission of Creating the Future for Papua New Guinea. The Journal is published bi-annually.

The Journal of Popular Science invites researchers, educators, academic, policy makers, scientist and practitioners to submit articles, case studies, research findings, positional papers that contribute to the fields Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in line with Papua New Guinea national demands and the Medium-Term Development Plan IV.
THEME
Fostering STEM Education for National Development:
In alignment with the PNG Medium Term Development Plan IV, the current issue of the Journal of Popular Science focuses on critical roles of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), education in shaping the future of Papua New Guinea. Articles within this theme explore innovative approaches to enhancing STEM education at all levels, from primary to tertiary, and its significance in addressing key development challenges.
INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS
The Journal of Popular Science invites researchers, educators, academic, policy makers, scientist, and practitioners to submit articles, case studies, research findings, positional papers that address these themes and their implication for PNG’s development. Submission should embody our commitment to make science accessible and engaging to a broad audience.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All articles submitted for publication should be original and not previously published or not even considered for publication by another publisher. Manuscript should contain title, author’s name, and their affiliation with an institution, abstract, keywords, main text including figures and tables, and references. The titles of the articles should not be more than 25 words. Author’s biography should include educational background, research field and current affiliation submitted as a separate file.
The abstracts should briefly outline the main objective, method or methodology, conclusion or recommendation. The abstract length should not be more than 150-250 words. The key words should not be more than 5 words. Reference should follow the American Psychologist Association Style (APA).

All articles accepted will go through peer-review. Length of article is between 4,000 - 6,000 word length, submitted in Microsoft word file, 12 font size, Times New Roman.
