The Journal of Melanesian Perspectives was established in 2018 by the School of Humanities to provide an avenue for multidimensional work in Melanesian Perspectives with the aim to create, generate, disseminate and store knowledge primarily for PNG and other Melanesian countries. It promotes Melanesian perspectives in a wide range of fields including language and literature, social sciences, creative arts and communication, psychology, economics, politics, history and other realms of human activity. The Journal is published twice a year.
CALL FOR PAPERS FOR PUBLICATION
The Journal of Melanesian Perspectives is calling for papers for publication. Papers are invited from researchers, academics, scholars and authors in multidimensional fields in Sociology, Language, Literature & Linguistics, Politics, Business and Economy, Creative Industries, Communication and Media, Environment, Development and Indigenous Knowledge, Community and Contemporary Cultures.
THEME
Medium Term Development Plan VI and Universities
Aligned with the Medium-Term Development Plan VI, this theme explores the role of universities as a catalyst for national development. Articles examine the role of universities as catalysts for national development and how higher education institutions in Melanesia contribute to advancing the country’s economic growth, social progresses, and human capital development, and how they align with the national development plan’s aspiration. Articles relating to issues affecting Papua New Guineans and other Melanesians with respect to their worldview and in fields of the humanities and related fields are also accepted.
INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS
The Journal of Melanesian Perspectives accepts research papers, case studies, analytical papers or argumentative, reviews, positional papers, creative practice or artwork.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All articles submitted for publication should be original and not previously published or not even considered for publication by another publisher. Manuscript should contain title, author’s name and their affiliation with an institution, abstract, keywords, main text including figures and tables, and references. The titles of the articles should not be more than 25 words.
Author’s biography should include educational background, research field and current affiliation submitted as a separate file.
The abstracts should be brief and clearly outline the main objective, method or methodology, conclusion, or recommendation. It should give the reader a clear idea of what has been achieved. The abstract length should not be more than 150-250 words. The key words should not be more than 5 words. Reference should follow the American Psychologist Association Style (APA).
Length of article is between 4,000 - 6,000-word length, submitted in Microsoft word file, 12 font size, Times New Roman and Doubled Spaced.
