AboutIDFL

A few words About the Institute of Distance and Flexible learning.

The Institute of Distance and Flexible Learning(IDFL) was established in 2010 as an alternative pathway for offering UOG's tertiary education to the masses. IDFL provides the opportunity for prospective UOG students to pursue studies through the distance and flexible mode. IDFL is conceived as a vehicle to bring University Education to the masses in both rural and remote Papua New Guinea and the South West Pacific Region.

In 2013, we developed plans to give new direction and become proactive towards IDFL's growth and expansion to provide increase access to the people of Papua New Guinea and the South West Pacific to tertiary education.

We have strategically established ourselves in most part of PNG and in the Solomon Islands to fulfill our mission in bringing tertiary education closer to the people.

We have a total of:

  1. Five Reginal campus.
  2. Eight Study Centers.
  3. Three new Study Centers in progress of MOA signing.
  4. Nearly three thousand students enrolment in the different programs.

Our catch phrase or slogan is "Bringing Gowns to Towns". That means we want to bring UOG degrees closer to where the people are to access conveniently. Thus we had so far graduated over 300 Teachers with Bachelor's Degrees who studied through distance and flexible learning mode.

Our mission of Distance Education has now extended to many parts of the country as well as the Solomon Islands where we have a regional campus called the Pacific Open Campus. Prospects who want to study at the University of Goroka through Distance and Flexible mode can access the campus/center in your respective provinces or closest to your location.

Distance and Flexible Learning is Affordable, Accessible, Flexible and Convenient for enrolment any part of the year such as Semester one, Semester two, Lahara or Trimester.
